Breaking: The Bengals’ Zac Taylor outlines a decisive game plan as the 22-year-old star is ruled out of Sunday’s clash against the Texans…

TEXANS ROOKIE QB C.J. STROUD IS STILL IN CONCUSSION PROTOCOL, TO MISS THE BENGALS GAME

The Cincinnati Bengals receive a significant advantage as Houston Texans’ rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud remains in concussion protocol, sidelining him for the upcoming game, as confirmed by Texans’ head coach DeMeco Ryans. Stroud, who sustained a concussion during a Week 14 defeat against the New York Jets, is still in the recovery process, missing practices, and his return is prolonged.

Coach Ryans acknowledged the unique nature of each concussion, emphasizing the importance of ensuring Stroud’s complete recovery. The rookie quarterback, instrumental in the Texans’ playoff contention, has showcased impressive performance throughout the season, amassing 3,631 yards and 20 touchdowns.

In Stroud’s absence, the Texans will once again turn to veteran Case Keenum as the starting quarterback. Keenum delivered a solid performance in the previous week’s 16-19 victory over the Tennessee Titans, recording 229 yards, one touchdown, and one interception.

Despite Stroud’s setback, the Texans are in a competitive position in the AFC South, currently occupying third place with an 8-6 record. They share the same record with the second-placed Indianapolis Colts and division leaders Jacksonville Jaguars, highlighting the significance of each remaining game in the ongoing playoff race.
