The 33-year-old defenseman made his NHL debut on October 2, 2009, during the Florida Panthers’ season opener against the Blackhawks in Helsinki, Finland. Over the years, Kulikov’s journey took him to various teams, including the Buffalo Sabres, Winnipeg Jets, Edmonton Oilers, New Jersey Devils, Minnesota Wild, Anaheim Ducks, and Pittsburgh Penguins. However, fate led him back to where it all started, signing a one-year, $1-million contract with the Panthers on July 1.
