Hull City’s boss, Liam Rosenior, reacts to disciplinary action from the Football Association…

Hull City head coach Liam Rosenior is facing disciplinary action from the Football Association (FA) following a one-match touchline ban and a £2,500 fine.

The sanctions stem from comments Rosenior made in the tunnel after Hull City’s 2-0 defeat against QPR last Saturday, expressing dissatisfaction with referee James Bell’s performance at Loftus Road.

Although Rosenior declined to publicly criticize Bell when questioned by Hull Live, it is reported that he conveyed his concerns to the match official in the dressing room area, leading to the FA’s intervention.

Despite signing a new contract with Hull City on Sunday, Rosenior is set to serve his touchline ban during Friday night’s game at Bristol City, where his team aims for a third consecutive Championship victory following wins against Middlesbrough and Cardiff.

In a statement released on Monday evening, an FA spokesperson stated, “Hull City’s Liam Rosenior has been given a one-match touchline suspension and a £2,500 fine for misconduct at their EFL Championship game against Queens Park Rangers on Saturday, 9 December.

The manager admitted that he used abusive and/or insulting words towards a match official in or around the changing rooms after the final whistle, and an independent Regulatory Commission imposed his sanctions following a hearing.”

This is not the first time Rosenior has faced disciplinary measures, as he previously served a one-game touchline ban for protesting after Norwich City’s controversial winning goal on the opening day of the season.

Additionally, he received cautions in successive games against Coventry City and Leeds United. Rosenior has been actively engaging with PGMOL chief Howard Webb and met with the Championship’s head of referees, Kevin Friend, earlier this month.
