New York Jets defensive tackle Quinnen Williams expressed concern for Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud following the Jets’ 30-6 victory on Sunday, diverting attention from their five-game losing streak. After the game, Williams took to social media, stating, “I pray C.J. is OK. Everyone knows I’m not a dirty player or trying to hurt a great, elite QB like him or any player in the league. I play hard, and I play fair. Again, I pray C.J. is OK and wish him nothing but the best.”
The incident occurred on a second-and-10 play from the Houston 25-yard line, where Stroud connected with former Alabama wide receiver John Metchie III for a 6-yard gain. However, a hit from Williams left the rookie QB on the ground in apparent distress, with the back of Stroud’s helmet making hard contact with the turf. Although Stroud managed to walk off the field with assistance from the Texans’ training staff, he did not return to the game.
Houston coach DeMeco Ryans confirmed after the game that Stroud had entered the NFL’s concussion protocol. Williams, who contributed to the Jets’ victory with three tackles, one sack, and two quarterback hits, expressed empathy for Stroud’s well-being amid the game’s physical intensity.

The win against the Texans marked a turning point for the Jets, ending their five-game losing streak and providing their first victory since October 29. Notably, the Jets hadn’t scored more than 20 points in a game since October 8. With a 5-8 record, the Jets are set to resume AFC East play against the Miami Dolphins on December 17 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.
