The Cumbria Sports Awards have officially acknowledged Carlisle United’s impressive resurgence under the leadership of Paul Simpson, honoring their promotion success. The special award, presented by Active Cumbria, specifically recognizes the team’s outstanding performance in the League Two play-off final against Stockport County at Wembley in May.

Despite encountering mixed results in the early stages of the League One season, Carlisle United has demonstrated resilience, holding their own against seemingly more prominent clubs. Notably, standout performances against Bolton and Burton have contributed to the positive perception of the team.
