Hull City manager Liam Rosenior playfully expressed regret to the fans at the MKM Stadium for substituting Jaden Philogene just over 60 minutes into the game.
The Tigers dominated against managerless Rotherham United, securing a place in the playoff spots after Cardiff City and Preston North End suffered defeats.
Under Rosenior’s management, Hull City achieved a noteworthy feat by winning three consecutive home games, marking a positive streak for the team. Liverpool loanee Tyler Morton initiated the scoring, followed by a remarkable backheel from summer signing Philogene, securing a 2-0 lead within the first ten minutes.
Scott Twine added a third goal, and Philogene completed his brace shortly after halftime, sealing a 4-0 victory.
Rosenior, reflecting on the match, apologized to supporters for substituting Philogene in the 63rd minute, explaining the decision as a strategic move to keep the player fresh for the upcoming game against Watford on Saturday.
