Minnesota Vikings rookie wide receiver Jordan Addison expressed disappointment with his performance in the latter part of the season. While acknowledging his earlier success, Addison admitted a recent decline in his play, particularly after the team’s 12-10 loss to the Chicago Bears on Monday Night Football.
In a candid assessment, Addison stated that a few weeks ago, he would have described his season as going well. However, he now feels he’s not meeting his own expectations and emphasized the need to elevate his performance. The wide receiver gained attention on October 23 during a Monday Night Football game against the San Francisco 49ers, showcasing his potential with 123 receiving yards and two touchdowns, one of which involved an impressive snatch from a defender.
Addison’s significance to the Vikings increased in the absence of Justin Jefferson, but his production waned after quarterback Kirk Cousins suffered a season-ending Achilles injury. Despite some wins with backup quarterback Josh Dobbs, the Vikings’ offense struggled notably in the recent game against the Bears.
Addison had a missed opportunity for a potential long touchdown when a pass from Dobbs led him out of bounds, contributing to his assessment of his own performance.
