Nottingham Forest winger Anthony Elanga is calling on the club’s fans to remain supportive despite the team’s 3-2 loss to Brighton at the City Ground on Saturday, ending their unbeaten home run this season. Elanga, who scored the opening goal just three minutes into the match, expressed his sentiments on Instagram following the defeat.
Some supporters are growing frustrated with the team’s recurring mistakes, particularly in relinquishing leads, a trend only surpassed by Burnley this season, resulting in an 11-point loss from winning positions.
Despite the setback, Elanga’s individual performance against Brighton earned praise, with Forest legend Steve Sutton highlighting his positive contribution on the radio. Elanga, an essential figure in Forest’s fortunes this season, was signed by manager Steve Cooper from Manchester United for £15 million, bringing much-needed athleticism to the squad. The 21-year-old has proven to be a valuable asset, scoring three goals and providing three assists, aiming to showcase his abilities as a Premier League player.
