Minnesota Vikings’ Head Coach confirms a setback as the 24-year-old star, Justin Jefferson, is ruled out of the clash with the Denver Broncos. On Saturday, the team also excludes offensive lineman Chris Reed, who, like Jefferson, is within the return window to the active roster.
Jefferson’s return window opened on November 8, providing 21 days for the Vikings to decide. The absolute last date for Jefferson’s return is November 29, two days after the Monday Night Football contest against the Chicago Bears. The likelihood is that Jefferson may not play until the team emerges from their bye week, facing the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 14.
The team’s Saturday moves include reinstating quarterback Nick Mullens to the 53-man roster, officially completing his return from injured reserve. Mullens, who went on IR the same day as Jefferson, will serve as backup to Joshua Dobbs in the Denver game.
Additional moves involve elevating linebacker Anthony Barr and cornerback Joejuan Williams from the practice squad to the active roster for Sunday night. Williams reinforces the injured Akayleb Evans, ruled out with a calf injury, while Barr plays his first game in purple since the 2021 regular season finale.
