Trabzonspor anticipates that Paull Onuachu will express a clear desire to remain in Turkey as they engage in negotiations with Southampton for a permanent transfer.
Onuachu, who joined Southampton last season from KRC Genk to aid in scoring goals and avoiding relegation, faced challenges adapting to the style of play on the south coast.
However, after a summer loan move to Trabzonspor, he has demonstrated impressive goal-scoring form, notching six goals in his initial eight matches. Trabzonspor is eager to secure him permanently and is reportedly preparing to discuss an option to buy in Onuachu’s loan deal.
While Southampton initially sought a €15m option to buy, which Trabzonspor rejected, the Turkish club hopes Onuachu’s expressed desire to stay will sway negotiations in their favor.
Given Onuachu’s success in Turkey and his previous struggles at Southampton, it is speculated that he is inclined to stay in the country.
