Sometimes the football gods do right by the teams that try and win games.
Last season, the Houston Texans won a meaningless Week 18 game that cost they the number one overall pick.
Many thought that win was a mistake because it cost the Texans a chance at the top quarterback in the draft.
The Carolina Panthers ended up selecting Bryce Young first overall and the Texans got C.J. Stroud.
It just so happens winning that meaningless Week 18 game was the best thing that ever happened to this franchise.
Stroud looks like a future superstar through the first 10 weeks of the NFL season.
While Young has struggled to do much of anything.
Keyshawn Johnson even talked on “Undisputed” about how Stroud may be the greatest rookie quarterback ever.
Could C.J. Stroud finish with the best rookie season ever?
“If the Texans win the division and he stays on pace, he’ll be a serious MVP contender. That makes him the greatest rookie QB.” — @keyshawn pic.twitter.com/HC1AIvnviG

Stroud is a legitimate MVP candidate and has the Texans playing great football.
Houston is 5-4 and only one game out of first place in the AFC South.
If they can find a way to steal this division, it will be impossible to deny Stroud the greatest rookie QB title.
Stroud has thrown for 2,626 yards on the season with 15 touchdowns and two interceptions.
Not only is he throwing at a high rate but he is not turning the ball over.
The NFL record for most passing yards for a rookie is 4,374, which was set by Andrew Luck.
Stroud is on pace to blow that record out of the water.
Sometimes all it takes is the right quarterback in place to be competitive.
The Texans have found their guy.
