Tee Higgins, the number 2 wide receiver for the Joe Burrow lead Cincinnati Bengals, did not play last week during an upset loss hosting the Houston Texans, due to a hamstring injury. And, unfortunately, the Bengals fanbase received disappointing news today regarding his participation:
How This Impacts The Cincinnati Bengals
Tee Higgins is among the league’s top wide receivers, just below the elite tier that encompasses perennial All-Pros such as Cooper Kupp, Tyreek Hill and Higgins’ teammate, Ja’Marr Chase. And, having had somewhat of a mediocre season for most of the year, Tee Higgins seemed to be just hitting his stride after a having a sterling 8 receptions for 110 yards against a (theoretically at least) strong Buffalo Bills defense.
Whilst Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati offense is still operational sans Tee Higgins, he certainly provides an excellent second option, the quality of which few teams can boast. And although this does not rule Higgins out officially for Thursday’s game at the Baltimore Ravens, it is certainly a step in the wrong direction, looking increasingly like he will not suit up for the divisional clash.
Regardless of whether Higgins plays, it should be a very interesting matchup, and hopefully will provide relief from the terrible Thursday night games that the public has had to endure this season.
