Texans standings: How win over Bengals puts Houston in NFL playoff spot…
The Texans entered the 2023 NFL season with very low expectations. The team had been among the NFL’s worst in recent years and was on its fifth different coach of the last four seasons.
There was hope that DeMeco Ryans would eventually be able to turn Houston around, but many presumed it would take time for the first-time head coach and rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud to get acclimated to their roles.
Instead, the Texans are looking like a potential playoff team 10 weeks into the season.
Houston entered Week 10 with a 4-4 record but was able to improve it with its 30-27 win over the Bengals. Stroud put forth another strong effort, throwing for 356 yards, one touchdown and one interception while leading a second consecutive game-winning drive that culminated in a walk-off, 38-yard Matt Ammendola field goal.
