Pro Football Focus named Los Angeles Rams guard Kevin Dotson to its midseason All-Pro team
The Los Angeles Rams made it a priority to upgrade their offensive line over the offseason after allowing 59 sacks last season, the third most in the league. One of their most important additions was guard Kevin Dotson, who they acquired in a trade with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Dotson began the season as a backup, but he quickly became a starter and has been rock-solid for the Rams. He is currently the highest-graded guard in the league according to Pro Football Focus, with an 87.5 run-blocking grade.
Dotson’s stats are somewhat of an inverse of what they have been in the past. During his time with the Steelers, he was a great pass blocker but a pedestrian run blocker. This season, though, run-blocking has been his strength, although he is still more than serviceable as a pass blocker.
Dotson is due to become a free agent at the end of the season, but he is making a strong case to stick around in Los Angeles. He has been a key part of the Rams’ offensive line improvement, and he is playing at a Pro Bowl level.
