The vote is reportedly set to take place at the next shareholders’ meeting later this month, on November 21. And if 14 of the 20 top flight clubs vote in favour of the loan transfer ban it will come into force.

Nottingham Forest and their Premier League rivals are understood to be set to vote to ban clubs from loaning players from teams under the same ownership.

The vote is reportedly set to take place at the next shareholders’ meeting later this month, on November 21. And if 14 of the 20 top flight clubs vote in favour of the loan transfer ban it will come into force.

It would mean Forest would not be able to loan any players from Greek giants Olympiacos, who are also owned by Evangelos Marinaki.

Newcastle are said to be preparing to make a loan move for Ruben Neves in the January transfer window, from Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal, but any move would not be allowed if the vote is passed as Newcastle are owned Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund and Al Hilal are under the majority ownership of PIF.
