Leicester City’s Boxing Day clash with Championship promotion rivals Ipswich has been rescheduled to an evening kick-off after it was selected for broadcast by Sky Sports
Leicester City fans are fuming with the “thoughtless” rescheduling of their Boxing Day trip to Ipswich.
The clash between the Championship’s current top two has been picked by Sky Sports for live TV coverage and has been moved to a 7.45pm kick-off. It means Leicester supporters travelling to the game won’t get home until the early hours of the morning.
City’s trip to Cardiff three days later, on Friday 29th December, is already down as a 7.45pm kick-off as part of a full evening schedule in the Championship. So for Leicester supporters, there are two back-to-back night games to disrupt their festive plans.
The Boxing Day clash was originally due to kick off at 3pm, but interest in the Championship promotion battle has seen it moved to a later time to be broadcast live. City supporters planning to go to Portman Road say the decision bears no consideration for them. Supporters on social media said:
