PSV Eindhoven is facing the prospect of being without Armel Bella-Kotchap for an extended period, as he recovers from shoulder surgery. According to Rik Elfrink, the German center-back sustained a shoulder injury during a match against Sparta Rotterdam, and the recovery timeline suggests he could be sidelined for approximately two months.
Armel Bella-Kotchap, who arrived on loan from Southampton on transfer deadline day, had shown promise in his early appearances for PSV, featuring in five matches for the Eredivisie leaders. Unfortunately, his progress has been interrupted by this injury, and it appears that PSV fans may have to wait until the following year to see him return to the field.
On a more positive note, PSV can take comfort in the progress of Mauro Júnior and Armando Obispo, both of whom are making significant strides in their recovery from injuries. When these two players return to full fitness, it will provide Peter Bosz with additional defensive options for the future.
PSV currently holds the top position in the Eredivisie table, thanks in part to their impressive 5-2 victory over Ajax, with Hirving Lozano scoring a hat-trick. This win sent Ajax to the bottom of the table. As Bosz and his team aim to maintain their remarkable run, having secured ten wins in their first ten matches, their determination remains strong.
