Southampton’s striking duo, Che Adams and Ross Stewart, are on the verge of making their return from injuries, as confirmed by Russell Martin over the weekend.
Both Che Adams and Ross Stewart, key players for Southampton, are expected to make their comebacks from injuries within the next two weeks, according to Russell Martin.
Che Adams was absent from the recent victory against Birmingham City, having sustained an injury during the midweek clash against Preston North End, which forced him to exit the game at half-time. Nonetheless, Southampton coped well in his absence, securing a 3-1 win thanks to goals from Carlos Alcaraz, Taylor Harwood-Bellis, and Adam Armstrong, a result that elevated them to fourth place in the Championship.
Russell Martin provided an update on Adams’ injury, stating, “I don’t think it’s going to be a long one; we’re hoping to have him back for next week, but if not, it should be the week after.”
On the other hand, Ross Stewart, who joined Southampton from Sunderland on transfer deadline day, has yet to make his debut due to a significant Achilles tendon injury suffered while playing for Sunderland in January. However, Martin and his coaching staff have closely monitored his recovery and believe that Stewart could return in time for Southampton’s match against West Bromwich Albion on November 11. Martin remarked, “He’s really close. If it’s not next week, hopefully, it will be the West Brom game.
