Crystal Palace will likely continue to miss the presence of Michael Olise and Eberechi Eze in their upcoming Premier League clash against Tottenham Hotspur tomorrow night.
These two creative players, who have not had the chance to play together so far this season, have returned to training but have not participated in first-team sessions during the early part of this week.
Olise experienced a setback in September during his recovery from hamstring surgery, which became necessary after suffering a grade three tear while on international duty with France’s U21 team at the end of the last season. The former Reading attacker, who provided six assists in the final 10 games of the previous season under former England manager Roy Hodgson, has been absent for the entire current campaign.
Meanwhile, Greenwich-born Eze is making progress in his return from a hamstring injury sustained after the 1-0 victory over Manchester United. However, the Premier League clash against the current leaders, Tottenham, has come too soon for his return.
Crystal Palace is aiming to bounce back from their heavy 4-0 defeat to Newcastle United in their last outing. On the other hand, Tottenham currently sits two points clear of second-placed Manchester City, and their manager, Ange Postecoglou, has set a new Premier League record for the most points earned by a manager in their first nine games in charge. Tottenham recently secured a 2-0 victory over Fulham, giving key attacking players Son Heung-min and James Maddison some much-needed rest time before facing Palace.
In other developments, Matheus Franca, who made his Premier League debut during the loss at St James’ Park, scored in a 3-1 win over Monaco in the Premier League International Cup on Tuesday night. Palace chairman Steve Parish and former manager Roy Hodgson were both present at Gander Green Lane to witness the match. Additionally, Nathan Ferguson completed his first full 90 minutes of the season, with several other young players, including David Ozoh, Ademola Ola-Adebomi, Malcolm Ebiowei, Tayo Adaramola, and Naouirou Ahamada, featuring for Darren Powell’s side.
