Pedro Neto has been in outstanding form for Wolves this season, contributing six assists in nine Premier League matches, including a notable performance against Liverpool in September. Although Liverpool won that game 3-1, Neto proved to be a formidable opponent.
Recent reports have indicated that Liverpool scouts observed Neto during the latest international break, where he featured in Portugal’s victory over Bosnia and Herzegovina, coming on as a substitute for AC Milan’s Rafael Leao.
Aston Villa and Arsenal are also reportedly keeping an eye on the 23-year-old’s progress.
The speculation surrounding Neto’s future is likely to intensify if he continues to shine for Wolves. Their comeback victory against AFC Bournemouth over the weekend extended their unbeaten run in the Premier League to four matches.
Additionally, discussions about possible replacements for Liverpool’s star player Mohamed Salah have arisen due to heightened interest in him. However, O’Neil, who was once a part of Liverpool’s coaching staff, remains unconcerned about the links between Neto and Liverpool, as he explained during a Monday Night Football appearance.
According to O’Neil, “He’s incredibly happy at Wolves. He’s enjoying his football and he’s rediscovered some good form. He has had a tough couple of years with some bad injuries and form, and he’s now performing at his best. He’s incredibly settled, happy at the club, and we are going to try and help him achieve some big things while he is here.”
