Forest boss heaps praise on talented star as two of his  players earned recognition in the ‘Who Scored’ Team of the Week after a ‘mischievous’ 2-2 draw with Luton…

Over the weekend, Nottingham Forest played to a 2-2 draw against Luton at the City Ground. Chris Wood contributed with two well-executed goals, while the £15 million summer signing, Anthony Elanga, provided the assists for both goals.

Both players displayed excellent form for the Reds. Prior to the match, it was announced that Callum Hudson-Odoi would be sidelined for six weeks, which opened up a starting opportunity for Elanga.

Elanga’s performance for Forest over the weekend was particularly outstanding, possibly marking his best showing in the Garibaldi colors. It hinted at his potential to fill the void left by Brennan Johnson after his move to Tottenham.

Wood’s two goals for Forest were both skillfully executed. His first was a lofted shot over the goalkeeper, while the second was a classic header.

Their contributions were duly acknowledged as Who Scored selected both players for their Team of the Week. While it may have been disappointing for Forest not to secure a win, it was pleasing to see two of their players recognized.

Wood has faced some criticism from certain supporters, some of which may have been unwarranted. Although he may not be the primary striker, the 31-year-old has proven himself more than capable when called upon.

Elanga, on the other hand, appears to be a promising addition to the Reds. He possesses exceptional speed and has already notched one goal and three assists, despite not being a regular starter this season. Moreover, he has received praise from Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the past, who referred to him as a ‘great talent’ during their time together at Manchester United.

Together, Wood and Elanga have the potential to form a productive partnership. Their understanding on the field was evident on Saturday, and hopefully, they can continue to contribute to Nottingham Forest’s points tally as the season unfolds.”
